Trying something new

Hey guys, so today I tried something very different, Aqua fit.
It is basically aerobics in the water with a gaggle of ladies and it's so difficult. I went along with my mum and I was pretty glad I had because the amount of elderly ladies that were there kinda intimidated me. The chatter was real, people. But after the initial 'you're new', 'you should be good at this because you're young', small talk it was time to enter the pool.

We started with a gentle warm up of basically just jumping and traveling in the water, which was a good way of starting up banter and saying hi to people. it was kind of difficult for me to see what the instructor was doing because I didn't have contacts in but that made it more fun in a way. It didn't feel too serious at all which was really nice as it didn't feel like a workout but I can feel the burn afterwards. There was lots of laughter and banter so it made me feel more comfortable and not self conscious at all. I think that because I was with older women there was no judging or awkwardness and they just accepted me as another person, there to do aqua fit. I laughed a lot and it really didn't feel like an hour had gone past.

Afterwards I was exhausted. Walking back home was a bit of an effort and I didn't realise how hungry I was. Luckily there was some left over couscous salad which was delicious. It was just couscous and tomato paste with finely chopped spring onions, corriander and fennel. Sooo good!!
I felt refreshingly healthy so I treated myself to some white chocolate and lemon curd swiss roll because it is always good to have a reward for hard work.
Overall, it was a very good experience and I would deffinately go again.
Take care
x
