Carving your own way

So I have noticed recently that I stand on my own two feet alot. Now that sounds obvious as I am a human and I walk on two feet but I mean it in the more metaphorical sense. I rely on myself and my own ability a heck of a lot for someone who just wrote a post on not feeling good enough in the past, but let me explain.

I have always known that if I needed to get somewhere I would be able to get there both physically and career/school wise. I have a lot of 'grit' and sheer determination to just keep going. I think that comes from being the youngest and having to learn quickly in order to keep up with my older siblings. And then through jobs I had responsibility because they wouldn't pay me if i wasn't working hard. When I travelled in Europe, I had to find my own way around to places and ask people for directions and use different public transport on my own. Suddenly the fear of being on my own was replaced by courage and i felt at home trying to find my own way in the world. I cam back home and I found out that I enjoyed that sense of carving out my own path. I really hope i get to travel by myself again and find new things and places but until then I try to apply that to my current situation. When I feel closed in or that there is only one way to go I will always try to find another way, to think bigger and work around problems rather than focusing on them completely, and coming back to solve them.

I am carving out my own way. I won't let what I've been through define me and I will always rely on myself. So if I have one thing to give as advice it's to rely on your wits and knowledge because you can get yourself out of some really tough situations by relying on you. You are enough and though people will eventually let you down and hurt you, you can do it on your own.
